Testimonials

We have been delighted with the response we've had from people who have seen or bought our systems, but don't just take our word for it!

Below is some of the feedback we have received about STAHLKOFFER Panniers.

Attached some photos of my bike with the panniers. 2000 miles done and they have been fantastic. Done some light off roading with them and they are holding up well.

Thanks Bernie, the panniers went on a treat, about 20mins total and that was taking it easy!
Not being much of a spanner monkey i was going to get a mate to fit them so i wasn't really listening when you when you tried to tell me how simple it was.

I'm really chuffed with the quality of the boxes and inner bags, it all looks so well designed and constructed.

It's a rare thing to say these days but i feel as though i've had a bargain.

Hi Bernie,
I hope you had a good time at the Motorbeurs in Utrecht.

As for the panniers; they ve been great so far. Installing the brackets was easy, and the whole installment seems sturdy and rather good looking indeed.

Thanks for your superb service and the great panniers!

Good to meet you yesterday and am really pleased with the panniers  Mrs F is well impressed with the inner bags plus they are a perfect fit for the "Eagle Creek" packing bags we already use.

Hope the Show has been good for you and I'm sure we'll bump into each other sometime.

Hi Bernie
Thanks for the panniers, they look great now they are fitted.  Aircraft handling managed to bash the case about which dented the lid and put some scratches down the back but I have managed to knock it out gently and cover the marks with stickers! Good job I didn’t go for the BMW plastic ones as they would have been smashed I’m sure.

Today the package arrived, and of course the inner bags were in it. I'm very surprised about the quality of these bags. If you compare the quality of your bags with the original BMW innerbags for their Touring panniers, the match is won by England by 5 to 0!!!!

They fit perfectly in the panniers, my compliments.

I have already booked the costs of the innerbags and shipment through my Bank to your Bank account. And a few penny's more, of which I'll hope you will take a beer or two from me.

Just thought I'd report back from the NEC show that I've been to this weekend. I visited the BMW stand and found an F800GS in grey with full on metal panniers available from stock apparantly ! Only problem was they were quoting an eye watering 770 quid plus VAT which is heading rapidly towards a grand. Now they were the ultimate in refinement, had locks on the lifting lids (plastic though). I also went to have a look at the Touratech stand too, again nice bit of kit but more rugged looking and just as expensive. Sorry I didnt have my camera, i whacked myself around the head when arriving at the NEC car park when I realised !

Whilst wandering around hall 3a I happened upon Stand 19 which was advertising some tours. My missus spotted a Stahlkoffer pannier sat on the table. I looked at these and thought mmmm, nice kit. The guy behind the stand said please talk to this man Bernie, he's the man behind them. What a great bloke, showed me the in's and out's of them. Have to say they are very rugged looking, 2mm aluminium with rolled over tops. The black lid looked cool too. The frame that was there looked sound too. Now I'm an engineer by trade prior to selling my soul to education and I have to say I liked the look of these. Solid, and rugged they look like they'll do the job nicely but wait for it......... THE PRICE £399 including frames plus VAT, I was gobsmacked and got the missus to check that I only had the single guiness at that point Now, are they as beautiful as the BMW ones, nope they are not BUT, they are a rugged looking piece of kit that will go well on the 800GS. All smooth lines too on the inside which is nice and they arent going to protrude outside the width of the bars apparantly.

Am glad someone has taken pics of the Stalhkoffer panniers as people can make their own judgement when they see pictures. I really like them and reckon I'll be placing my order after the Christmas & New Year hols are over. Should be able to see them on an 800GS on their website by then !

Quite like the securing arrangement to the rack, with the ability to lock the boxes in place (and release) from the outside.

These seem a good fit for purpose pannier which after seeing and giving a good fondle, I'll be putting in an order for sure.
If you're going to the show, they are well worth searching out and can be found in Hall 3A - 'Touring and adventure zone'.
The boxes are constructed from folded 2mm aluminium so all the welding is out of sight on the rear of the box. The one shown is 31/32L and for the F800and the nearside one is slightly narrower for balance. So, a big to Bernie for providing a cost effective quality solution.

I have made a couple of trips with these now and am very pleased with how robust and user friendly they are.
The way they are situated on the original bmw pannier fittings works very well in respect of not impeding your pillions riding position and with the cross bar in this makes the frames very sturdy.
The guy (Bernie) who runs this company is very obliging and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to purchase some panniers at a reasonable price.
I am not related or connected to this business just wanting to share a good find in my opinion.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like any futher info.

All the very best

It’s good to see alternatives in the market, there are only four manufacturers and they all seem to have a vanity about them that these modest young panniers don’t have. They’re simple, functional and look like they want to get dirty! All in all, they look like a good deal. The good bit about the whole thing is…Bernie is a talking guy. Not the sort of guy you can take for a ride, he is smart enough to avoid that, but he is personable and perfectly open to chat about little tweaks I want to make them do a little extra in terms of function. I like that. I like the fact the answer is not ‘no’ before the question has been heard and considered. Few people keep an open mind for the duration of a discussion.
