STAHLKOFFER is proud of their products and service, but don’t just take STAHLKOFFER’s word for it!
Below is some of the feedback we have received about STAHLKOFFER Panniers:
Four years of using your panniers continuously either on our bikes or on our trike and they are still going strong. Thanks Bernie. Tony A.
Sorry for the delay in sending you a couple of pics of the panniers on my wife’s bike.
I cannot praise these panniers enough they are awesome and so easy to fit.
We toured for a week around the UK in the worst week of weather this year and your panniers were faultless.
I cannot wait to get a set for my GS (plus a topbox each).
Many thanks for your fantastic service, I am recommending your products at every opportunity I get.
Bob D. Stoney Stratford.
Hi Bernie,Thanks again for the panniers. I’ve recently toured Scotland on them and they were great. Completely watertight despite riding from London to Lancaster in the pouring rain on the motorway. Please find enclosed a coupe of pictures – I’ll send you the link to the blog posts of the tour when they are up. All the best. Gareth O. London. SE23 2AG.
Just wanted to say thanks for my BMW F800GS top box. It’s perfect for my bike. Was great dealing with you. Would definitely recommend great delivery time and excellent communication thanks again. Craig. B, Wallasey, Merseyside.
Happy with the prices. I think we can confirm two sets of frames and two sets of back plates. I will transfer the money this afternoon. Thanks again for the fantastic service. Regards Ash, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, NE10 0XB
Hi Bernie. These Panniers are fantastic! I thought you would want to see the new panniers now they are fitted. They look the dogs b******s. with or without the boxes. Nigel B. London. E13 9QD.
Panniers fitted a treat and look good on the Sertao – no adjustments required. Hope you had a good Show and look forward to seeing you at Excel in February. Nick F. Stevenage, Herts.
A photo of the Triumph Tiger Explorer with the panniers and topbox attached as I mentioned at the bike show. Did a great job around Europe, 2,500 miles camping. Andy C. Solihull, West Midlands.
Thanks Bernie, I am really pleased with everything. The panniers and top box look great. Brilliant service too! Cheers. Robert B. Bognor Regis, West Sussex.
Hi Bernie. I must congratulate you on the quality of your panniers. The left one was hit square on by a Kawasaki GT1400 doing 50 miles per hour. Thanks to the great construction of your panniers and fixing rails I was not seriously hurt when I was stationary. I pulled an amazing wheelie but landed O.K. The Kawasaki is a right off, the front wheel and forks are totalled and are not facing the correct way, headstock broken etc. I need a new frame and a near side pannier. Steve R. Rochester, Kent.
Recently crashed in Morocco with a large Stahlkoffer top box, took a fair old whack as I fell into rocks at about 45-50 mph. Still watertight, and opens fine albeit a bit scuffed shall we say. You could say adds to the character! Coolhand, Swindon. GSer Subscriber.
Hey Bernie,The topbox looks really cool. I really like the look of the gun metal grey boxes. You most certainly have a sale! Rob J.Sheffield, Yorkshire.
Top box arrived safely today . Really pleased with it . Will mount it over the weekend . I’m selling an old trials bike to get some cash together . Hopefully be in touch soon to order the matching panniers. Thanks again. James G. Powys, Wales.
Hi Bernie, Had a good ride home, steady cruise at 85-90 with a blast up to 105 mph, no probs. Well chuffed with top box,Thanks again Bernie. John T. East Dulwich, London.
Hello Bernie. Received Rollbag today, just the job, very pleased with it. Sits well on the back of the Tiger. Sam T. Norwich, Norfolk.
Thanks for seeing me yesterday and sorting out my pannier, frame and top box. Soon as its all working I intend to write to all the clubs I’m in praising your personal service. Its much better than dealing with a big company that does not care about an individual customer.
David G. High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Got back fine thanks. Thank you for your time today, good to chat as always and the panniers seem excellent, Anna also impressed at the space and construction.
Many thanks for everything, and I wish you safe travels. Craig R. Hereford.
Thanks for your help. Please find a cheque for the hoops so I can make some frames for my old R80GS. P.S. It’s so nice to deal with real people. Richard A, Christchurch, Dorset.
As promised I’ve taken a few shots of the 60litre roll bag strapped to my Yamaha Bulldog. Hope you can use one of these for your marketing. The bag is great. Thanks. Eddy S. Kidderminster.
I thought I would drop you a quick line and let you know how my panniers performed in Morocco. They were absolutely first class causing no problems at all, they were very easy to pack and were totally water and dustproof throughout our trip. The paint work is as good as the day I picked the boxes up from you a year ago and they just look and perform fantastically. Various other bikers (including a German pair) commented on how good and sturdy they looked. They certainly make some other more well known cases look on the flimsy side. All in all, brilliant cases and I am glad I bought them. Regards, John D. Parts Manager. SBW Motorrad.
Hi Bernie. Just a quick note to let you know that the luggage arrived safely and has now been fitted to my bike. The fitting was very easy, just as you described, the quality of the luggage is excellent and looks fantastic on the bike. Can’t wait for the better weather so that I can set off on a camping trip!! Many thanks. Paul P. Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Hi Bernie. Got the bars fitted yesterday – Delighted – See picture attached – More to follow when I add lighting upgrade and bike is cleaned after a half day on offroad / country tracks – excellent!!! The guy who helped me was thoroughly impressed with the design and strength of the bars – will recommend to others (as with the panniers). We will manufacture spacers to re fit bash plate (later). See you at HU Ripley this year? Cheers Scott B. Aberdeen. – Delighted Customer.
Hi Bernie,Thought you might like to see the panniers you supplied in us on our trip to Scotland the other week. I am really pleased with them and how much we could get into the bags. We didn’t need to use a top box on this trip. Regards Anthony H. Runcorn, Cheshire.
I have to say that being the owner of STAHLKOFFER panniers, pannier liner bags and pannier-top bags I know that their products are of very high quality and they offer real guarantees to boot. I have been waiting for them to start making the new crash bars since they moved premises and I have to say that they look like they offer good protection, good looking scaffolding I reckon. Andy C. Manchester.
I would like to thank you for building such strong pannier racks. I came off my bike at 40mph and luckily the pannier rails saved the exhaust, and look like nothing has happened to them! And didn’t have the panniers on at the time. (luckily). Dave R. Shoreham-by-sea. West Sussex.
Just thought I would let you know that I am absolutely delighted with the panniers you suplied and fitted to my R1200GS Adventure. The quality of the product and service from your goodself was above and beyond what I have come to expect in this modern world. Many thanks for the product and the service. Ronnie M. Woodhall Spa. Lincs.
Hi Bernie. Fitted my panniers and I’m very pleased with them. I’ve attatched a photo of them fitted to my bike. Thanks again Bernie, see you at the NEC. Les M.
Attached some photos of my bike with the panniers. 2000 miles done and they have been fantastic. Done some light off roading with them and they are holding up well. Dave R. Shoreham.West Sussex.
Thanks Bernie, the panniers went on a treat, about 20mins total and that was taking it easy! Not being much of a spanner monkey I was going to get a mate to fit them so I wasn’t really listening when you when you tried to tell me how simple it was. I’m really chuffed with the quality of the boxes and inner bags, it all looks so well designed and constructed. It’s a rare thing to say these days but i feel as though i’ve had a bargain. John W. Aberystwyth. Wales.
I hope you had a good time at the Motorbeurs in Utrecht. As for the panniers; they’ve been great so far. Installing the brackets was easy, and the whole installment seems sturdy and rather good looking indeed. Thanks for your superb service and the great panniers! Cheers, Jos B. Amersfoort. Holland.
Good to meet you yesterday and am really pleased with the panniers Mrs F is well impressed with the inner bags plus they are a perfect fit for the “Eagle Creek” packing bags we already use. Hope the Show has been good for you and I’m sure we’ll bump into each other sometime. Nick F. Stevenage, Herts.
Thanks for the panniers, they look great now they are fitted. Aircraft handling managed to bash the case about which dented the lid and put some scratches down the back but I have managed to knock it out gently and cover the marks with stickers! Good job I didn’t go for the BMW plastic ones as they would have been smashed I’m sure. Nick B. Portugal.
Today the package arrived, and of course the inner bags were in it. I’m very surprised about the quality of these bags. If you compare the quality of your bags with the original BMW innerbags for their Touring panniers, the match is won by England by 5 to 0!!!! They fit perfectly in the panniers, my compliments. I have already booked the costs of the innerbags and shipment through my Bank to your Bank account. And a few penny’s more, of which I’ll hope you will take a beer or two from me. Greetings. Willem B.The Netherlands.
Just thought I’d report back from the NEC show that I’ve been to this weekend. I visited the BMW stand and found an F800GS in grey with full on metal panniers available from stock apparantly ! Only problem was they were quoting an eye watering 770 quid plus VAT which is heading rapidly towards a grand. Now they were the ultimate in refinement, had locks on the lifting lids (plastic though). I also went to have a look at the Touratech stand too, again nice bit of kit but more rugged looking and just as expensive. Sorry I didnt have my camera, i whacked myself around the head when arriving at the NEC car park when I realised ! Whilst wandering around hall 3A I happened upon Stand 19 which was advertising some tours. My missus spotted a STAHLKOFFER pannier sat on the table. I looked at these and thought mmmm, nice kit. The guy behind the stand said please talk to this man Bernie, he’s the man behind them. What a great bloke, showed me the in’s and out’s of them. Have to say they are very rugged looking, 2mm aluminium with rolled over tops. The black lid looked cool too. The frame that was there looked sound too. Now I’m an engineer by trade prior to selling my soul to education and I have to say I liked the look of these. Solid, and rugged they look like they’ll do the job nicely but wait for it……… THE PRICE £399 including frames plus VAT, I was gobsmacked and got the missus to check that I only had the single guiness at that point Now, are they as beautiful as the BMW ones, nope they are not BUT, they are a rugged looking piece of kit that will go well on the 800GS. All smooth lines too on the inside which is nice and they arent going to protrude outside the width of the bars apparently. Am glad someone has taken pics of the Stalhkoffer panniers as people can make their own judgement when they see pictures. I really like them and reckon I’ll be placing my order after the Christmas & New Year hols are over. Should be able to see them on an 800GS on their website by then! Quite like the securing arrangement to the rack, with the ability to lock the boxes in place (and release) from the outside. These seem a good fit for purpose pannier which after seeing and giving a good fondle, I’ll be putting in an order for sure. If you’re going to the show, they are well worth searching out and can be found in Hall 3A – ‘Touring and Adventure zone’. The boxes are constructed from folded 2mm aluminium so all the welding is out of sight on the rear of the box. The one shown is 31/32L and for the F800and the nearside one is slightly narrower for balance. So, a big to Bernie for providing a cost effective quality solution. I have made a couple of trips with these now and am very pleased with how robust and user friendly they are. The way they are situated on the original bmw pannier fittings works very well in respect of not impeding your pillions riding position and with the cross bar in this makes the frames very sturdy. The guy (Bernie) who runs this company is very obliging and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to purchase some panniers at a reasonable price. I am not related or connected to this business just wanting to share a good find in my opinion. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any futher info. All the very best Adam G. Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
It’s good to see alternatives in the market, there are only four manufacturers and they all seem to have a vanity about them that these modest young panniers don’t have. They’re simple, functional and look like they want to get dirty! All in all, they look like a good deal. The good bit about the whole thing is…Bernie is a talking guy. Not the sort of guy you can take for a ride, he is smart enough to avoid that, but he is personable and perfectly open to chat about little tweaks I want to make them do a little extra in terms of function. I like that. I like the fact the answer is not ‘no’ before the question has been heard and considered. Few people keep an open mind for the duration of a discussion. Jo A. Nottingham, prior to setting off on his Round the World Trip April 2009.
